Brathay Trust

New Award-winning Website

Redesigned website and branding

The Brathay Trust had two websites, one for the charitable side of their work, delivering development programmes to vulnerable young people and their families, and another for the commercial aspect, which provides corporate training, coaching and development programmes to companies and public sector organisations.

These two aspects of the organisation support one another, both financially and in raising awareness and Ibex was tasked with combining the two websites, presenting the trust as a seamless organisation.

The challenge was to bring together the highly varied activities into a single, more focussed and succinct form, with clear messaging and user-friendly navigation.

Ibex created custom blocks within an advanced admin user interface, making use of the Gutenberg editor, ensuring that Brathay staff were able to edit pages and create new content which was aligned with the branding guidelines. The existing branding was extended and enhanced for the new website.

The resulting site won an international award as best website for a charitable organisation.

Since then, a new CEO brought in new ideas, and a requirement for a different emphasis for the website. At this point, our advanced block-based editor system really showed its value, and what was effectively another non-trivial redesign and restructure was accomplished quickly and within a tight budget. Ibex worked closely with Brathay staff to repurpose existing blocks, creating a limited number of new or slightly revised blocks. Brathay staff were able to manage the changes to content in-house, and realise their vision for a reimagined and further simplified website.
